Awkwardstra Geelong Incorporated was formed in September, 2022. The original brief was to create a community orchestra in Geelong that accepts all musicians aged 17 years and over, regardless of skill level or instrument quotas.

We have since expanded our goals to endeavour to support all musicians, regardless of obstacles to joining.

These obstacles may include financial, transport, physical, cultural or psychological barriers. Awkwardstra Geelong will work with musicians to try to overcome these and other barriers to joining, so that everyone may enjoy playing music as part of a group.
